The colours you’ve chosen combined with your expressive brushstrokes give the painting such a heavenly, almost otherworldly feeling. There’s a weightlessness to the composition that makes it feel like it’s floating between dream and reality. It’s both calming and emotionally powerful. I really love the atmosphere you’ve created.

Teodora’s works invite the viewer to drift into an open, weightless atmosphere. Soft washes of ink meet rich layers of oil and modelling paste, creating a visual field that pulses between earth and ether. Essence is both presence and absence—rooted in silence, and full of movement.

For me, abstract expressionism means the reflection on canvas of inner mental landscapes, of feelings and emotions that come to light as brushstrokes, as expression. I strive to create a sense of spaces that unfold endlessly outwards and inwards. To represent the world as an accumulation and interpenetration of layers - layers of colors and shapes, layers of ideas, sharing, expectations... Expressive brushstrokes are calmed by a watercolor spill. All mutually exclusive worlds coexist simultaneously within us.

For me, paintings are a kind of sculptures that are plastically completed and become three-dimensional in space.
The shadows of the structured layer are another type of artistic presence that makes the impact vivid and changing depending on the brightness of the light.

A slow process...

Creating my paintings is a slow process. The accumulation of several layers creates a sense of movement. They are made with inspiration and aim to create a positive feeling.
It is important for me to have space on the canvas for air, for light. To be able to grade the spots. To have a plastic transition from light to dark and a sharper graphic, expressive, cutting entrance from one to the other. My goal in abstraction is to remove the distractions and preoccupations of the material realm. Teo
